18 soldiers were killed on September 18 when the Uri Army base was attacked by heavily-armed Pakistani terrorists.
New Delhi: A soldier who was critically injured in the Uri attack succumbed to his wounds on Friday, taking the toll in the September 18 terror strike to 19.
The soldier was undergoing treatment at the Army Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi.
His death came a day after the Indian Army carried out punitive surgical strikes at terror launch pads across the de-facto order with Pakistan.
The midnight operation is believed to have caused significant damage to the terror infrastructure in Pakistan-held territory.
It came a fortnight after militants from the Jaish-e-Mohammad struck at an army camp in Uri town of Kashmir and killed 17 soldiers in the early hours of September 18. A day later, another jawan succumbed to his injuries.
