Unidentified assailants shoot businessman, police scan CCTV footage

A businessman was shot at by some unidentified assailants in Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday evening when Alekh Garg, a resident of Nehru Nagar in Ghaziabad, was going to his house in his SUV car.

"When he reached near Gyani Border, some unidentified armed persons waylaid his car and opened fire. Though three bullets were fired at the car, Garg was hit by one bullet," said a senior police officer.

After the firing, the attackers fled the spot, he added.

Locals informed the police, which later rushed Garg to a nearby hospital where his condition is now stable, the official said.

"We have registered a case against unidentified persons.

Police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in nearby areas to identify them," he said.
