Umeshs plea on court appearance

HYDERABAD: Senior IPS officer Umesh Kumar submitted to court on Wednesday that he need not appear personally in court. He said that the CID prosecutor had misrepresented the HC orders dispensing his personal appearance in court. Umesh Kumar's counsel, Surender Rao, told the chief metropolitan magistrate that the high court had dispensed his personal appearance in  court, in the case related to signature forgery of former Rajya Sabha MP M A Khan, which is being investigated by the CID.During the last hearing, the court directed Umesh Kumar to appear before court as the CID prosecutor contended that the HC’s order dispensing Umesh Kumar's personal appearance lapsed on January 6 itself. Magistrate has posted matter for hearing on April 18.
