BANGALORE: Udupi and Bidar districts have secured the first and the last places, respectively in the pass percentage table of the 2012 SSLC examinations. Udupi has an overall pass percentage of 89.53, followed by Sirsi and Hassan at 88.31 and 85.92 per cent, respectively. This is the third time that Bidar secured the last place in the SSLC examination results. Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri said here on Thursday the fact that some of top-scoring districts have showed poor results was unacceptable.“Stringent measures will be taken to ensure that the performances do not decline.A discussion with officials on the factors affecting the results will be held soon,” he added.Free Computers to ToppersKageri announced that the education department will present computers to the three toppers of all taluks.Earlier, three toppers of all districts were presented with computers. “609 computers have been set aside for the toppers, allocations for which were made in this year’s state budget,” he said.The minister also urged students not to panic over admissions to pre-university colleges.Kageri said that the I-PUC admission schedule is already in place.“Students can download the PUC application forms which is common to all colleges.Rs 20 can be remitted by the students to the colleges concerned.” He added that instructions on the admission process have been sent to the state colleges and that permission has been granted to 100 new Pre-university colleges to commence from this academic year.The supplementary SSLC examinations will begin on June 18.Karnataka Secondary Education and Examination Board (KSEEB) has provided the schools with nominal rolls of failed candidates along with the result sheets.Last dates to pay fees by the candidates and sending applications to the board are May 26 and 29, respectively.KSEEB has also made arrangements for re-totalling and issuing photocopies of answer scripts.The last date for sending applications for re-totalling and obtaining photocopies is May 28.Candidates applying for revaluation of answer scripts should apply within seven days from the date of receiving the photocopies.Prescribed fee for SSLC supplementary examination is `200 for one subject, Rs 250 for two subjects and Rs 315 for more than two subjects, respectively. The corresponding fees for re-totalling for are Rs 150, Rs 300 and Rs 700, respectively.
