THRISSUR: The Fast Track Court here on Thursday sentenced Murukeshan, 26, and Selvan, 22, accused in the spinster sisters murder case, to undergo double life imprisonment. They were also asked to pay Rs 2 lakh as fine. Pronouncing the verdict, Justice Babychand P Thomas said that the amount of fine should be given to the relatives of the victims.  It was on November 17, 2009 that the bodies of Visalakshmi Amma, 78, a retired teacher and her sister Saraswathy, 68, had found at their residence nearby Cheroor in Thrissur  district.  Stating that the murder was a rarest of rare case, the prosecution had demanded death sentence. Murukeshan and Selvan had been found guilty by the court on Wednesday. The court cross examined  about  29 witnesses during the course of the trial.
