Twitter testing Facebook-like profile design, may ditch its signature vertical stream
Twitter seems to be moving away from its vertical Twitter stream to a mosaic-view of tweets.

New Delhi: A new report from Mashable suggests that Twitter is testing a new design for user profiles that looks like a mix of Facebook and Google Plus. The new design came to notice when a Mashable journalist spotted a huge update to his Twitter profile page.

In the new design, the profile picture and bio have been shifted to the left with a Facebook-like cover photo on the top of the page. There is a horizontal section just below the header photo that shows your follower counts and tweet counts.

The company seems to be moving away from a vertical Twitter stream to a mosaic-view of tweets. Instead of chronology, the focus appears to be more on photos and content cards in the new design.

It would be a landmark change as Twitter has always kept its signature vertical stream unchanged since it was launched. Ironically, while Twitter is following in Facebook's footsteps and deserting its one column stream, it was not so long ago when Facebook moved away from its two-column design in favour of one-column timeline.

What's your reaction?
