HYDERABAD: N Sunil Reddy, a trusted aide of Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Emaar scam on Tuesday. This is the second arrest in the case, the first being that of industrialist Koneru Prasad.Sunil Reddy’s arrest came as a shocker for the Jagan camp as Sunil, who is also a distant relative of Jagan, is reportedly in the know of all deals surrounding Kadapa MP and his group of companies.“Sunil Reddy has been arrested in the Emaar case this evening.He will be produced before the Special Court for CBI cases tomorrow,’’ CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana said on Tuesday night.He would be lodged in the CCS lock-up for the night.The CBI will shortly be filing a petition seeking Sunil’s custody for further interrogation.Sources told Express that Stylish Homes manager Tummala Ranga Rao , popularly known as Stylish Ranga Rao, is understood to have deposed against Sunil Reddy in the scam, which led to his arrest.Ranga Rao had applied for anticipatory bail on Tuesday.Sources said a major share of the money made by Koneru Prasad and Ranga Rao by selling plots in Emaar Boulder Hills was allegedly given to the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s camp and it was Sunil who was said to have transported the money.‘’On the instructions of some people, Sunil Reddy collected money from one party and carried it to the other,’’ sources said.It was alleged that the late YSR was given nearly `100 crore out of the money collected by Koneru Prasad by selling the plots.It all began with an early morning ‘’operation’’ by the CBI during which Sunil Reddy was picked up from his residence at Nanakramguda in Gachibowli.Around 5.30 a.m., a team walked inside the house, picked up Sunil and drove away.He was brought to Dilkusha guest house where he was grilled throughout the day and his arrest was confirmed only by night.After the initial round of questioning that lasted for about two-and-a-half hours, he was once again taken home where the CBI seized certain documents and other material which reportedly pertained to some Emaar deals.Sunil’s arrest came as a shocker for many in the Jagan camp and as it is believed that if he opens his mouth, it would spell who is sunil reddy?Sunil Reddy, who owns an interior decoration store in Jubilee Hills, became close to Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy after the sudden demise of former chief minister late Y S Rajasekahara Reddy.Ever since, he is associated with Jaganmohan Reddy and is reportedly taking care of all political and business activities of the Kadapa MP.Sunil Reddy is also involved in Jaganmohan Reddy’s day-to-day political activity.It is learnt that Sunil Reddy was the one who came up with the idea of ‘’Odarpu Yatra’’ undertaken by Jagan Mohan Reddy.‘’He coordinates with YSR Congress party leaders and fixes appointments with Jaganmohan Reddy,’’ source said.Referred to as the ‘transporter’, the CBI’s sudden move to pick up Sunil Reddy is aimed at nailing some of the ‘big fish’ in the case, sources said describing Sunil as a ‘mine of information’ about Jagan’s deals.Earlier in the day, Sunil Reddy’s wife Krishna Teja, along with advocates, rushed to the Dilkusha guest house alleging that the CBI officials had taken her husband without informing her about the purpose.After meeting the CBI officials, Krishna Teja told mediapersons that three CBI officials barged into her house and took away her husband Sunil Reddy.“I was worried and therefore I came here (Dilkusha guest house) to know why my husband was taken away hurriedly without informing the family members.Sunil Reddy is only a distant relative of Jaganmohan Reddy and he had nothing to do with Jaganmohan’s businesses,’’ Krishna Teja added.Sunil Reddy, a native of Pulivendula in Kadapa district, owns an interior decor store in Jubilee Hills.He is a relative of Jaganmohan Reddy’s wife Bharathi.The CBI is understood to have grilled him on several aspects surrounding the Emaar scam.“He will also be questioned over the alleged illegal assets of Jagan when the CBI gets his custody,’’ sources said.“He used to take orders from Vijay Sai Reddy and was also a close aide of the late YSR,’’ sources said.Meanwhile, Sunil Reddy’s family members said Sunil never figured in any of the ongoing investigations pertaining to Jaganmohan Reddy as an accused Industrialists questionedTwo industrialists also appeared before the CBI officials in connection with the Jaganmohan Reddy’s illegal assets case on Tuesday.Jayalakshmi Textiles chairman T R Kannan and Mumbai Industrialist Dilip Mehta were questioned by the CBI.
