THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The vehicular traffic along city roads will be regulated on Wednesday from 8 am onwards in connection with the arrival of President Pratibha Patil.The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic, North, has informed that parking of vehicles along the Shangumugham road that leads to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and the road from Chackai to Vellayambalam will be strictly prohibited during the visit of the President. The vehicles going to the airport between 8 am and 2 pm have been instructed to take the route via Muttathara, Kallummoodu and Ponnarapalam. Vehicles from Thampanoor and East Fort to Peroorkada between 9 am and 1 pm have to travel via Overbridge, Flyover, Thycaud, Vazhuthacaud, Sree Moolam Club, Edapazhanji and Sasthamangalam and vehicles coming in the reverse direction have to take the same route. Similarly, the vehicles going from M C Road to East Fort and vice versa have to take the route via Mannanthala, Mukkola, Peroorkada, Oolanpara, Sasthamangalam, Edapazhanji, Jagathy, Kannetumukku, Thycaud and Flyover. Those coming from Kazhakoottam to the city centre have to take the route via Sreekariyam, Ulloor, Kesavadasapuram, Pattom, Marappalam, Kowdiar, Ambalamukku, Oolanpara, Sasthamangalam, Kochar Road, Edapazhanji, Jagathy, Kannetumukku, Thycaud and Flyover. Meanwhile, parking of vehicles has been banned on both sides of the roads along the stretches Raj Bhavan- Vellayambalam- Museum-Palayam; Vellayambalam- Vazhuthacaud-Xanadu; Althara- Keltron Junction- Manaveeyam Road and RR Lamp-VJT Hall- Asan Square- General Hospital- Pattoor-Pettah- Chackai- All Saints- Shangumugham road.
