Token Bus Stir called off

KOCHI: The proposed token strike announced by the private bus operators in the Thrikkakara-Edappally route on Monday has been called off. The decision came in the wake of the discussions held in the Central Zone Deputy Transport Commissioner’s office.T J Thomas, RTO, N K Raveendran, Joint RTO, M D Latheef, Sub-Inspector, Thrikkakara, N K Ibrahimkutti, district secretary, INTUC, A A Ibrahimkutty, councillor, and representatives of private bus operators union were present at the discussion table.The bus operators’ demand, include restricting students from boarding the buses in groups, favourable environment for the workers and directing the students to avail the KSRTC services, etc. The strike was called in the wake of a scuffle between the College students and the bus crew.
