The ‘Thrippootharattu’ festival of Goddess Parvathi will be celebrated at Chengannur Lord Mahadeva temple on October 11.
The ‘thrippoothu’ of Goddess Parvathi was confirmed by the elder woman member of Thazhamon Madom, the residence of temple thantri Kandararu Maheswararu, on Monday, temple administrative officer Harindranath said.
The rituals connected with the ‘thrippoothu’ festival will conclude with the ‘arattu’ ceremony at Mithrappuzha kadavu on the banks of the Pampa at 7.30 am on October 11.
The ‘arattu’ procession carrying the idol of Goddess Parvathi will be taken out on a caparisoned elephant from the ‘arattu kadavu’ at 10 am.
Thalapoli, panchavadyam, chendamelam and nadaswaram will accompany the ‘arattu’ procession.
On reaching the temple gate, another procession carrying the idol of Lord Siva on a caparisoned elephant will receive the procession of Goddess Parvathi at 1 pm.
The combined procession would circumambulate the nalambalam of Lord Siva temple. The ‘arattu’ festival will conclude with Kalabhabhishekam.
Annadanam will be offered to the devotees who gather at the temple after the rituals and ceremony.
