New Delhi: Three Indians stuck in a war zone in Libya have been evacuated and are being brought back home, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Thursday night. She said they have been brought to Benghazi, which is a port city in Libya.

"We have brought them in military vehicles 650 Kms away to Benghazi. We will now fly them from Benghazi/Tripoli."

"Two of them were evacuated by the Government earlier also. However, they returned to Libya on April 28, 2016 ignoring our advisories."

"They are being evacuated from war torn Libya at the public expense for the second time," Swaraj said in a series of tweets.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal had requested Swaraj to help the three men in returning to India.
