This Bengaluru Park Houses Over 700 Plants Of 103 Different Species
The park is built on a one-and-a-half acre of land with plants that help treat skin diseases, respiratory problems, diabetes and other ailments.

Despite having numerous parks and nature reserves, Bengaluru is one of the cities with the highest air pollution. With the increasing population and a steep rise in the number of vehicles, the quality of the environment is deteriorating even more. According to reports, around 17 per cent of the city’s people suffer from skin-related issues. To solve these problems a unique initiative was initiated.

To reduce air pollution and save people from several kinds of diseases and skin ailments an initiative named Dhanvantari Park was reportedly started. It is a herbal garden which houses more than 700 plants of around 103 different species. The garden is located between the 4th and 5th main roads of Jayanagar 3rd Block.

It is the second such park in the city of Bengaluru and also has good lighting, which attracts crowds even during the evening time. The state government took up this initiative to improve the air quality of the city of Bengaluru. With this aim, the Dhanvantari and Sanjeevini Parks are being built across the city.

It is a one-and-a-half acre of land with numerous medicinal plants that help treat skin diseases, respiratory problems, diabetes, fever, cough, piles, toothache, eye pain, hair fall and other ailments. According to media reports, the plants were brought from the regions of village Agumbe, Aghanashini River and Western Ghats.

The Dhanvantari Park includes the Adusoge plant, whose seeds help in the treatment of respiratory issues. Other in the list are Shatavari and Sarpagandha which helps in the treatment of cancer. Several other plants have great medicinal value.

Several surveys were done to examine the general health of the people living in the city. The results suggest that the residents of Bengaluru suffer from illnesses like cold, cough, and fever throughout the year, along with various skin infections and allergies. The residents have welcomed this initiative wholeheartedly and mentioned that more such parks should be built keeping in mind the health conditions of the people.
