Terrorist killed in Kashmir During Fresh Gunfight

Srinagar: Security forces on Friday gunned down a terrorist in a fresh gunfight that began on Friday after a raid on a suspected insurgent hideout in north Kashmir Sopore town, police said.

Security forces laid a cordon around a residential house in Sopore after a tip off regarding the presence of two terrorists hiding inside, the official added.

The militants opened fire at the forces which was retaliated, ensuing into a fierce gunfight.

"The lone militant holed up inside the house is firing at the security forces and the operation to flush him out is still on," the officer said.
