Tax Guru speaks on becoming a multi-millionaire

CHENNAI: ‘Tax Guru’ and TV celebrity Subash Lakhotia on Saturday alerted the Jain community against falling prey to phishing emails and gave out mantras to become a multi-millionaire.Speaking at an interaction organised by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO — Chennai Chapter), Lakhotia stressed the need to innovate in business while citing the examples of KPN Travels and MDH Masala.“They became successful because they had a vision to innovate,” he told the business community.He also said presence of mind during times of adversity and curbing lavish spending were other keys to success. He said the businessmen should now focus on ventures abroad. “At least one person from your family should go abroad and invest in innovative business,” Lakhotia said.He also urged the community to focus on acquisition abroad. “Buy land abroad or in far off places as a community, this will raise the value of the land,” he said.He further provided some tips on saving while filing tax returns. He urged the community to maintain an income tax file for each family member.Lakhotia also felicitated two youngsters, Ajay Kumar Jain and Kuldeep Ramesh Jain from the Jain community, for getting selected in the Civil Service Examinations. JITO chairman Lalith Mehta urged more youngsters from the community to join the civil services as the number of civil service aspirants had dwindled.
