Students denied benefits

KOCHI: The Lakshadweep Students Association (LSA) has approached the Education Department in Lakshadweep demanding immediate solution to various issues they face. Research students from the islands do not get fee concession and  other benefits, the LSA pointed out.The LSA said that though applications were invited for various positions in the department in February, no tests were conducted so far.  Though there are a couple of institutions in Kavaratti, no hostels have been set up in the island, LSA president T Cheriyakoya said.
