Enraged over a fellow student's death after being hit by a train, a group of students pelted stones at the Dehradun-Bandra train injuring 12 people, including the train driver, in Saharanpur district police said on Thursday.
The incident happened last evening when irate students pelted stones on the train after their colleague, studying with them in a Madrasa, died after being hit by the rail, coming from Dehradun to Delhi, Deputy Superintendent of police Nirankar Singh said.
Twelve people, including train driver Shiv Kumar, got injured in the stone pelting, police said, adding that following the incident train service was disrupted for half an hour.
The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem, they said.
