HYDERABAD: Civil supplies minister D Sridhar Babu had to face the wrath of the Secretariat TJAC employees and was forced to leave in the midst of press conference addressed jointly by him and his cabinet colleagues- revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy and tourism minister V Vasanth Kumar at the 'J' block conference hall here on Thursday.
The press conference was disrupted by the striking employees who raised 'Jai Telangana" and "Sridhar Babu down down" slogans.About 100 T employees of the Secretariat, who had stopped attending duties in support of the Sakala Janula Samme, staged a demonstration near the J block building at about 12.30 p.m. After coming to know that Sridhar Babu was addressing a press conference in the same block, they rushed to the venue. The alert security personnel of the ministers stopped the employees from entering into the conference hall. Both employees and the security jostled with each another for a while. Later, the employees barged themselves into the hall forcing the ministers to stop the press conference abruptly.

The Telangana employees led by JAC chairman Narender Rao and secretary general Suresh Kumar entered into an argument with Sridhar Babu for addressing a press meet.

In response, Sridhar Babu, who looked tense tried to defend his presence in the press conference. He asserted that he never asked the employees to leave their jobs and join the strike.

Not satisfied with his explanation, the employees insisted that Sridhar Babu come out and extend solidarity to their strike. Left with no other option, the minister left the venue amidst "Jai Telangana" slogans by the employees.
