KOCHI: Excise Minister K Babu said that special funds would be earmarked in next budget for supporting de-addiction centres.The Minister was speaking after flagging off the anti-addiction mass run organised by the excise department in Kochi on Monday.He also said that antiaddiction clubs in schools, which have already been constituted in some places, will be extended to all schools by next year.“Also, Kudumbasree units should think of getting engaged in de-addiction activities.Also, next year onwards, only five start hotels will be issued bar licenses,” he said.More than 500 volunteers including officials of the Department of Excise, student police and students took part in the run from High Court Junction to Town Hall.Dominic Presentation MLA presided over the valedictory function held on the premises of the Town Hall.He also administered the anti-addiction oath.District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth, Mayor Tony Chammany, District Panchayat president Eldhose Kunnappilly were also present
