Special drive to enrol voters in Hyderabad

The Election Commission will conduct a special drive for enrolment of voters in 15 Assembly constituencies falling in Hyderabad district.

The draft electoral rolls in respect of the 15 constituencies were  published on October 1 and are available at all the designated locations of EROs, AEROs offices and polling station buildings. Claims and objections, if any, will be received till Oct 31.

Ward sabhas and gram sabhas will be conducted to read out the electoral roll by BLOs till October 9. A special campaign will be conducted on October 7, 14 and 21 at all the polling stations.

District election officer and GHMC special commissioner Navin Mittal said booth-level officers (BLOs) and designated officers would be available at the said locations with relevant forms that include Form-6 (for inclusion of names), Form-7 (for filing objections), Form-8 (for modification of records in e-rolls) and Form-8A (for transposition of names from one address to another within the same constituency).

The relevant part of electoral roll is also available for facilitating the electors to verify their names and to file their claims and objections.
