Union Home Minister Sushil kumar Shinde will travel to Uttarakhand on Monday to inaugurate a number of ambitious land projects of central paramilitary forces coming up in the state.
Shinde will inaugurate two battalion location centres of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Border Security Force (BSF) in Sitarganj in Udham Singh Nagar, the Assembly constituency of Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna.
He will also inaugurate a new battalion location of the BSF in capital Dehradun's Doiwala area, a senior official said.
These forces are creating their centres for the first time in Uttarakhand.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Army have multiple bases in the state as part of their deployment and operational requirements to secure the Sino-Indian frontier.
Shinde will also meet top officials of the state government and is expected to get a review report of the rehabilitation operations going on in Uttarakhand which was ravaged by floods and landslides recently.
He will be accompanied by top paramilitary and Home Ministry officials for the one-day visit to the state.
