Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is expected to undergo another surgey next week for re-attaching the part of his skull that was earlier removed.
A part of Sharon's skull had been removed in a series of operations, as it had become narcotic.
The 78-year-old had suffered a hemmorage in January and has been in coma ever since.
Doctors says his condition is crtical and that with every day that he fails to regain consciousness, his chances for recovery diminish.
Ron Krumer, spokesman for Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital, where Sharon has been in a coma since suffering a massive stroke on January 4, 2006 said that specialists from other hospitals had met Hadassah surgeons to discuss Sharon's care, but he declined to comment further.
However, no explanation was given as to why the part was left unattached for so long.
Krumer said yesterday there were no immediate plans to change Sharon's treatment or move him to a long-term care facility.
Sharon has undergone seven surgeries including three on the brain after his massive brain hemorrhage.
Doctors removed part of his colon that had become necrotic and replaced breathing and feeding tubes. In the most recent procedure, doctors drained fluid from his abdominal cavity
