Srinagar: The Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the sex racket case in Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday submitted a status report before the state High Court.
The court has set Friday as the next date of hearing of the case.
The status report, among other things, mentioned the arrest of two former state ministers Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Raman Mattoo.
Asserting that the investigations will continue, the CBI came up with the status report during the hearing of proceedings held in camera by the division bench comprising justice Hakim Imtyaz Hussain and B A Kirmani.
The High Court which was supposed to hear the case on Monday deferred the hearing by a day.
The sleuths from CBI's Special Crime unit arrived at the Jammu and Kashmir House early on Tuesday morning and began questioning Mir about his alleged involvement in the case.
After a preliminary round of questioning, the CBI officials informed Mir that he had been placed under arrest and that he would be taken on a transit remand to Srinagar.
Mir was nominated by the Congress Election Committee as polling agent for its party President Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli but was withdrawan after his name started doing rounds in the sex scandal. The MLA had come to the national capital on Tuesday.
The CBI officials also visited Mattoo in Srinagar to inform him that he had been placed under arrest and that he needs to accompany them to the CBI's makeshift office at Humhama in outskirts of the Srinagar.
Mattoo is an MLA from Habba Kadal constituency where Sabeena, the alleged kingpin's house had been brought down by angry protestors on May 1.
With the arrest of the two, the number of people nabbed in the case has gone upto 11. Nine persons including Sabeena and Deputy Inspector General of the BSF K S Padhi had been arrested by the CBI and the local police for allegedly raping a minor girl.
