BANGALORE: Lokayukta, Justice Santosh Hegde on Wednesday announced that the second report on mining will be ready by the end of June.
Speaking at an event to release a documentary film on industrial mining pressure on Daroji Bear Sanctuary of Bellary, 'Please Bear With Us', he said, "The report is under process and it will be ready by Juneend. However, we can only report to the government, we cannot take any action.""Earlier from Bellary the ironore was being transported and shipping was happening through Mangalore, Bilikeri and Goa. Now they have opened up new route via Anantapur, Vizag and Chennai" he added.

Speaking about the Daroji Bear Sanctuary, Bellary, he said, "even during my first report, I had mentioned and given to the Government about the protection of Daroji Bear Sanctuary which houses the endangered species of Asian sloth bears. But the Government has failed to take any action and had sanctioned for setting up of a mining industy close by the Sanctuary.
