Russian wrestler booked in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: A case has been registered against Russian wrestler Niketa in Ludhiana.

Infuriated over the last minute postponement of wrestling events in three cities of Punjab, some foreign wrestlers had made racial remarks against Indians and tried to hurt reporters at a press conference on Thursday.

Canada-based Universal Wrestling Organisation had roped in wrestlers from around the world for the competition, which was to kick off in Jalandhar on Thursday.

Over a dozen wrestlers from different countries had come for the event titled 'India versus Rest Of The World-War Of Legends'. But the programme was cancelled due to some technical problem.
