Two youths tricked the cashier of a petrol pump and made away with Rs 80,000 here on Monday. The two littered a bunch of currencies and distracted the cashier before fleeing with the cash.
The incident occurred at the service station near Kalpana Square. Police said, the two youths first came in to enquire about the price of lubricants. Later, they returned to buy it. While pretending to buy, one of the youths drew attention of the cashier to a bunch ` 10 denomination notes.When the cashier was busy collecting the cash, the other miscreant went to the cash box and took` 80,00. Interestingly, a second drawer in the cash box contained ` 4 lakh which the robbers could not notice.
Body Found
Body of an unidentified person, wrapped in a polythene sheet, was found near a canal in Balianta area. When locals spotted it and informed the police, the sheet was opened. The lower limbs of the body were missing while the head bore injuries. Balianta Police suspect the person may have been murdered and his body dumped in the canal. Investigation is on.
