Red terror has made a comeback after a brief lull following the release of abducted MLA Jhina Hikaka on April 26. Before the State could heave a sigh of relief after the prolonged triple abductions involving two Italian nationals and a ruling party MLA, Maoists have struck again. Official sources said the killing had brought to the fore danger faced by security forces in Maoist-affected areas. Majhi, posted at Dharambandha police outpost and belonged to Beltukuri village in the same district, was brutally assaulted with rifle butts on his face, before being shot in the back, killing him on the spot.
