BANGALORE: Fully aware of the dicey political situation in the state after former minister B Sriramulu decided to part ways with the BJP to contest the Bellary Assembly byelection as an Independent, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Saturday broadly hinted that he and the BJP were ready for mid-term elections.Speaking to reporters after releasing a book by Justice Rama Jois on Raja Dharam with lessons on Raja Neeti, Gowda said there was no need for mid-term polls, but hastened to add that the BJP was confident of returning to power if there were mid-term polls.“We have the right team of workers, the right programmes and a capable leadership. We will certainly win the (mid-term) elections,” said Gowda. On being asked what role former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa would play in the future, the Chief Minister said: “You must ask him that. I can only say that all party leaders will work together for the BJP’s victory. We shall take it as a challenge. The party is more important than any individual.”
