Bina Ramani and her husband, who are key witnesses in the Jessica Lall murder case, have lost their passports to rats.

New Delhi: Socialite Bina Ramani and her husband George Mahilote, who are key witnesses in the Jessica Lall murder case, have lost their passports to rats.

Ramani and her husband’s passports were chewed up by rats while they were with Delhi Police’s Special Investigation Team.

The rats also did not spare the bond of Rs 5 lakh that was submitted by Mailhote to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) as per the court order.

The passports were given to SIT at Qutab Institutional Area in the first week of February this year.

The embarrassed SIT has, however, ensured Ramani that a new passport will be given to her and her husband soon.

Bina has now taken legal action and the Delhi High Court has asked the Delhi Police to extend all possible help so that they can get new passports at the earliest.
