BANGALORE: A 33-year-old HR manager alleged that three unknown miscreants attempted to rape her at her residence and when resisted they decamped with a gold ring and Rs 4,000 cash in Jeevan Bimanagar police station limits.
Pooja Mehra, a resident of HAL second stage, in the complaint alleged that three unknown miscreants rang her residence's doorbell at 2.30 am on Friday. When she opened the door, the trio barged inside and threatened her at knife point and snatched a gold ring and Rs 4,000 cash. In the complaint, the victim stated that before fleeing they tried to rape her but she succeeded in resisting them. Reportedly, one of the miscreants had masked his face. However, the victim's statement has raised several questions. "The victim says that she was awake and was working in her laptop at 2.30 am, when the doorbell rang. Though there is a window next to the door, the complainant, who is unmarried and stays alone, has not bothered to check who had come at such odd hours. She said she thought it was her friends but such statements are hard to believe and we need to investigate what happened exactly," the police said.
