HYDERABAD: Chiranjeevi’s son-in-law Sirish Bharadwaj, who allegedly harassed his wife Srija for additional dowry, was sent to two days of police custody on Friday.Women’s police station inspector S Jyothi Lakshmi said Sirish will be in their custody for two days.Meanwhile in the court, the prosecution cited several allegations about how Sirish harassed Srija and an opportunity should be given to investigating officials to gather material evidence. The counsel alleged Sirish had not allowed Srija to meet her parents. “Even on the day of the Sangeet function of Srija’s cousin Allu Arjun at Taj Krishna, Sirish kept calling her to leave the venue and come back,” the public prosecutor said. The prosecution also alleged that Sirish had once allegedly tried to strangle Srija, causing her minor injuries. But the defence counsel refuted the allegations and asked, “If there is any truth about Sirish intimidating Srija, then why the police did not register a case?” the defence counsel asked. He also said that Sirish is in no position to tamper evidence or try to intimidate Srija, who has been staying along with Chiranjeevi ever since she parted with him.“Do you think Sirish can threaten Chiranjeevi’s daughter by going into his house, which has high security?,” the defence counsel questioned. The magistrate, after hearing the arguments, reserved the order for bail application for August
