BANGALORE: The Lokayukta Special Court on Friday reserved its orders on former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu’s absolute bail petition till December 5. Naidu, who was granted three-month interim bail for medical treatment by the HC on October 31, had applied for an absolute bail before the Lokayukta Court. On Friday, he appeared before the court, and said he had been advised treatment at the Royal Free Hampstead Hospital, London. His counsel informed the court that Naidu’s doctors at Leelavathi Hospital in Mumbai, where he had taken treatment earlier, had referred him to Dr Atul Mehta at the London hospital for stem cell treatment as his stem cells were stored there. He also said a second medical opinion also suggested the same.“Naidu has been given appointment by Dr Mehta at 9 am on December 19, and he has also applied for a visa. He also has to undergo various tests five days prior to the treatment,” the advocate said. The counsel also said: “In the KIADB land scam case, the investigation and collection of documents are already over, and the question of tampering (with evidence) doesn’t arise at all.”Meanwhile, the counsel for the other accused in the case, Katta Jagadish Naidu, also requested Judge N K Sudheendra Rao to grant bail to his client on humanitarian grounds, as his mother was diabetic. He also requested the court not to club the bail pleas of the father and son as senior Katta’s plea was of urgent nature.Filing his objections, I S Pramod Chandra, Special Public Prosecutor for the Lokayukta police, said absolute bail should not be granted under any circumstances.
