The capital has got one more law college. Admissions to the ‘Mar Gregorios College of Law,’ for which the Bar Council of India nod was received recently, will begin functioning soon at the Mar Ivanios Vidya Nagar, Nalanchira.
The new law college is a project of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Students will be admitted for the five-year BA LLB course this year itself. There are 60 seats in all, Bishop Samuel Mar Irenius, auxiliary bishop of Thiruvananthapuram, said. Half the seats will be filled from the government’s entrance rank list and the remaining half, from the management quota.
Former director of the School of Indian Legal Thought, MG University and dean of the Law Department, Christ College, Bangalore, Dr Vikraman Nair is the principal of the college.
The application forms can be downloaded from the website www.mgcl.ac.in. The form will also be available at the college from Monday. For details, contact 0471-2541120. ENS
