A 70-year-old man of a marriage party was killed and 20 others were injured when a Special Utility Vehicle (SUV) traveling at high speed rammed into a tractor on the National Highway (NH)-31 in Katihar district on July 11.
A 70-year-old man of a marriage party was killed and 20 others were injured when a Special Utility Vehicle (SUV) traveling at high speed rammed into a tractor on the National Highway (NH)-31 in Katihar district on July 11.
Police said the deceased, identified as Bhagwan Mandal, was part of a marriage party moving by a tractor from Sameli to a famous Durga Temple at Kursela where several marriage ceremonies were conducted.
All the persons travelling by the tractor were injured and admitted to a nearby Primary Health Centre.
Three of them were in serious condition, police said.
The SUV occupants fled the spot leaving behind their vehicle which was seized by the police.
