CHENNAI: The joy of meeting an old friend whom you have not been in touch with, or getting to talk to your teacher who guided you through your good and bad times or remembering times spent at school is something a reunion alone can give you. The makers and founders of the Old Boys’ Association (OBA) came together to organise a reunion party for Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School batches that dated back to 1938 to the ones which graduated last year. Addressing the boys, Anwar Barayil, one of the MCC Higher Secondary School graduates said, “It is a pleasure to be back here and be a part of this reunion. I have been staying away from India for quite some time now, and I miss the friendliness here. I am grateful to MCC for guiding me through and through.”“We need to be innovative at every step. More students must be sent abroad (under the students exchange programme) to experience the goodness of technology. It is essential for all of us and I am sure most of you will agree with what I have to say,” said Venkatesh Babu, Managing Director, Lanco Infra. He was also one of the MCC graduates. The reunion ended with speeches from other dignitaries prsent at the event. Also, a plea was put forward by the OBA and school authorities to contribute to the fund that is being raised to construct a multi purpose hall.
