Nuclear disaster victims remembered

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the memory of the victims of the Hiroshima tragedy, a solemn ceremony was held in Christ Nagar International School, Kowdiar, the other day. Principal Rev. Fr. Josey Kollammallil, along with the staff and the students, laid the wreath in the memory of the victims and paid tributes by lighting the candles and offering flowers.Maho Osada from Kaishi in Yamanashi state, Japan, who was the special guest in the ceremony, in her speech accentuated the trauma of the nuclear warfare afflicted upon the Japanese, especially in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki region. She also gave a powerpoint presentation highlighting the culture of Japan - the food,the people, the dress, the currency, the technology, the martial arts, the language, the seasons and also the educational system.Herself being a student, she also interacted with the students - sharing her experiences and answering their questions.
