Shanghai: Top-ranked Novak Djokovic beat David Ferrer 6-4, 6-2 to reach the Shanghai Masters semi-finals on Friday and extend his winning streak in China to 28 matches.

Djokovic could face Roger Federer in the semi-finals in a rematch of their Wimbledon final, which the Serb won for his seventh career major. Federer played Julien Benneteau late Friday.

Djokovic hasn't lost in China since falling to Federer in the Shanghai semifinals in 2010. Since then, he's captured the China Open three times, and the Shanghai Masters twice.

The other semifinal has been set, with Gilles Simon of France taking on Feliciano Lopez of Spain.

Lopez, who knocked out an ailing Rafael Nadal in the second round, defeated Mikhail Youzhny 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, while Simon beat sixth-seeded Tomas Berdych 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-0.
