SRIKAKULAM: Following repeated failure to appear for hearings in a granite mining case, registered in 2000 by police, the assistant sessions judge court of Sompeta on Thursday issued non-bailable warrant to Srikakulam MP K Kruparani’s husband Killi Rammohana Rao.In 2000, the locals of Kranthi Granites of Lingalavalasa of Tekkali mandal have complained police that the granite unit was using explosives in the process of granite mining and people were suffering with those kind of methods of operations in terms of sprinkling the pieces of rocks.Responding locals appeals, then Deputy Superintendent of Police, Palasa-Kasibugga Kannaji Rao team had found explosive materials in Kranthi Granites and registered cases.However, besides absent for several hearings, held between 2000 to till today, respondent in the case K Ramamohana Rao had filed absent petition in today’s trial at Assistant Sessions Judge Courts, Sompeta, which has rejected it and issued non-billable warrant to K Rammohana Rao on the grounds that he had been absent for number of consecutive trials in the case.
