THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has given nod to local bodies to fund projects undertaken by the Kerala Social Security Mission, a press note from the office of Panchayats Minister M K Muneer said. The Corporations and District Panchayats can give Rs 10 lakh, Block Panchayats and Municipalities Rs 5 lakh and Grama Panchayats Rs 1 lakh each to the Mission with the nod of the District Planning Committee.The local bodies must also undertake sales of the stamps released by the Mission that comes in Rs 10, Rs 50 and Rs 100 denominations respectively and collect a total of Rs 50,000 which should be handed over to the Mission. The fund would be utilised for projects on cancer protection, kidney and heart treatment, neurological diseases and so on.
