ALUVA: Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad (KSSP) performed a street play on ‘need of a different Kerala’ at KEM High School in Alangad.The play highlighted the issues like need for public education, drive against liquor and drugs, dowry, importance given to gold ornaments, luxurious lifestyle, inequalities in the society, lifestyle diseases, damage to agriculture and production sectors, prevailing superstitions, communal disharmony, environmental degradation and increasing pollution levels.Alangad Panchayat president T U Prasad inaugurated the programme. KEM High School parent teacher association (PTA) president V A Jabbar, manager Sreevalsakrishnan, P S Geetha, P R Reghu, Parishad state secretary K T Radhakrishna, S S Madhu and M K Rajendran also spoke on the occasion. Meanwhile, KSSP took initiative to distribute the reading books for the kids of GLPS in Panayikulam. KSSP executive member S S Madhu spoke on ‘how to read and what to read.’ Mary Varghese inaugurated the distribution of books. P S Jagadeesan, Girija Teacher, C M Rasheed, P A Ibrahim, B K Rahman, V A Mohemed and V M Abdul Salam also spoke.
