Naxals didn't threaten me: released Italian
There is still no word on the second abducted Italian Bosusco Paolo or even BJD MLA Jina Hikaka.

Bhubaneswar: Naxals released one of the two Italian hostages Claudio Colangelo on Sunday after almost two weeks in custody. He said he wasn't threatened. Claudio, who was not keeping well, was handed over to a group of three journalists near Kandhamal who took him to Surada Police Station.

He was subjected to a medical examination at the Irrigation Department bungalow.

Claudio expressed happiness after being released by the Maoists, but added that he was sad as his friend Bosusco Paolo was still in captivity.

"I am both happy and sad. I am sad that Paolo is still in Maoist captivity. I can't comment on government's role as I had no information on what was happening outside," Claudio, who was handed over to a group of journalists by Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda, told CNN-IBN.

But there is still no word on his compatriot Bosusco Paolo, or BJD MLA Jina Hikaka, who was abducted by another faction of Maoists.

The release of the second Italian depends on the second round of talks, if at all they begin. The two demands that the Maoists have put forward include the release of five senior Maoists including leader Sabyasachi Panda's wife Subashree Panda.

It is for the government to decide whether the Maoists' demands can be met.
