The Mumbai University Results 2017 delay has been primarily caused due to the transition in the mode of checking from manual to the online assessment process. The ministry of education stated that it will probe if the delay was due to technical glitches or inadequacy in the work of the company which was outsourced the task of online assessment.

The University had asked the 3rd Year Professors to join the answer keys checking and declared non-instructional days for all faculties.

The professors are assessing papers at Central Assessment Process Centres in Mumbai. However, the education minister has assured that the quality of marking will not be compromised given the urgency to complete checking of around 5 Laksh papers before July 31st.

The Maharashtra government will conduct a detailed inquiry into the delay in the declaration of results of the exams conducted by the University Of Mumbai (MU), said the Education Minister Vinod Tawde who was challenged to resign along with MU Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh by Shiv Sena members Anil Parab and Neelam Gorhe.
