Motorcycle-Borne Men Throw Acid on Teacher in MP

Bhopal: Two motorcycle-borne youths threw acid on a 24-year-old teacher in Habibganj area in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday morning.

The victim has been rushed to a nearby Narmada Hospital with severe burn injuries on her left face and waist.

Investigation revealed that the youths (face covered) asked her some local address, which she failed to recollect. While she was about the leave, one of them threw acid on her face and fled away.

The police have launched a manhunt for the attackers.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who met the victim, said, "She is in a state of shock. I assured her family members that the accused persons will be arrested soon."

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Alok Sanjar said that he will speak to the collector and the administration in this regard.

He said, "Sale of acid is prohibited in Bhopal but still such an incident are taking place. I will personally look in to the matter and will do all necessary action to send the accused behind bars."

In a separate incident, a 12-year-old traffic volunteer was attacked with acid in Vadodara in Gujarat.

An unidentified man threw acid on Kankuben Rathwa and fled from the spot. She was rushed to the SSG hospital with severe burn injuries on her face and hands.
