Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) managing director NVS Reddy on Saturday stated that the major traffic bottlenecks, identified in earlier inspections at Nagole-Mettuguda and Miyapur-Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar metro rail work areas, have been removed.
The road-stretch at the Ek Minar junction near Uppal stadium has been re-profiled with BT layer to avoid rain water stagnation. A cross-drain with catch pits has also been constructed at the junction. Similarly, bad road patches at Habsiguda and Tarnaka have been re-carpeted. The only building near SBH at Habsiguda junction has been demolished by HMR and GHMC town planning officials. It will facilitate smooth traffic from Habsiguda junction towards Uppal and LB Nagar, an official added. The storm-water drain work between BJP office and IDL Cheruvu in Kukatpally has been completed and the 200 m stretch re-carpeted providing a major relief to commuters as the area would perpetually be flooded.
NVS Reddy said the entire stretch between JNTU and Erragadda Road over Bridge (RoB) is being widened to 200 ft as per the GHMC master Plan, the cost of which will be shared by HMR and GHMC. The land acquisition notices have been issued by the GHMC against 123 structures while another 100 notices would be issued soon, Reddy added.
