BHADRACHALAM: Even as the two day nationwide bandh called by the Maoist in protest of the recent killing of their leader Mallojuala Koteswara Rao alias Kishenji in an encounter began on Sunday, Maoists activists sneaked into Khammam district and interrupted the vehicluar traffic in Bhadrachalam division.
According to sources, nearly sixty Maoists and their sympathisers sneaked into Venkatapuram and Charla mandals of Bhadrachalam division from Dandakarnaya of Chhatisgarh. They fell down trees at Pathrapuram, Alubaka villages and blocked the road that connects to Boopalpatnam in Chhattisgarh via VenkatapurVajedu and blocked the road. They also dug up huge pits on road at Kurnapally in Charla mandal.

They also pasted posters and raised banners on road, demanding that the Union government stop the 'Operation Green Hunt' and withdraw cases against tribals.

"Additional forces have been deployed and cases were registered against felling the trees, said KRK Prasad Rao, circle inspector, Venkatapur.
