Indians love a good cup of hot chai, no matter what the season is. Generally, when one thinks of chai, the ingredients like cardamom, ginger, clove and other spices come to mind. But, who would have thought of pairing tea with mangoes? Mango Tea is currently the new buzz of the town that refreshes one and offers the taste of mango at the same time. A cup of hot tea is known to remove any kind of mental and physical fatigue and now, this Mango chai is becoming a favourite.
Generally, in the summer season, there are a few who tend to avoid tea. Now, the Dabri tea garden in the middle of the Alipurduar district has introduced a new flavour of chai to attract customers, the Mango Chai (tea) to ensure that people are able to enjoy their favourite drink even in the scorching heat of the summer.
The Dabri Tea Garden is to present new flavours of tea to the tea lovers of the region. They experiment with the flavours and have previously offered Moonlight tea, blue tea, white tea, rose tea and various others here. This summer, they decided to introduce the mango flavour to the tea. This also came at a time when tourists flock to the region and would fancy themselves with this unique cup of beverage. Further, it offers tea-leaf pakoras are toppings.
Tourists crowded at Dabri Tea Garden’s own Tea Lounge stall. However, it should be noted that it will cost a lot more than a cup of simple and ordinary chai. The price of the chai is Rs 5,500 per kilo. One has to spend Rs 100 per cup to taste the Mango Chai in the tea garden of Alipurduar, on the side of the National Highway.
Chinmoy Dhar, Manager of tea garden is hopeful that the new flavour of tea will find a place in the hearts of the customers and respond well in the market. The last few flavours introduced by the tea garden were a huge hit.
