PALAKKAD: Krishna Vinod, 35, killed his neighbour, Deepa, 22, by stabbing and then committed suicide in the bedroom of his house here on Monday. The body of Deepa was found lying in the courtyard of Krishna Vinod’s house. According to the police, Krishna Vinod, a painter, had proposed to marry Deepa. However, she declined his offer. This would have prompted Krishna Vinod to attempt such a heinous crime. The incident happened around 12 noon, when the parents of Krishna Vinod and Deepa were not at their houses. The police said Krishna Vinod would have called Deepa to his house and stabbed her to death. Later, he would have committed suicide after entering the house through the backdoor, which was found locked from inside.The Pattambi police have sent the bodies to the Thrissur Medical College Hospital for post mortem examination.
