HYDERABAD: A 58 year old man was hacked to death by unidentified persons in a tribal hamlet in Ranga Reddy district late on Tuesday night.
The deceased, Gondya Nayak (58), was a resident of Mokhila tanda in Shankarpally of Ranga Reddy district. According to police, unidentified persons broke into Nayak's house while he was asleep and attacked him with an axe. Nayak suffered serious injuries on the face. He was shifted to a nearby hospital and from there to the Osmania General Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Nayak, who did not have sons, adopted his brother's son and gave his property to him. Police suspect property disputes might have led to the killing. Shankarpally police have registered a case and are investigating.
