Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a medical officer has been held on rape charges in Maharashtra. The 39-year-old former chief medical officer of Vasai-Virar municipal corporation has been arrested for allegedly raping his colleague over a period of one year.
He had recruited the victim to a municipal hospital. The medical officer allegedly raped her after taking her out for dinner.
The medical officer also took pictures of the victim and threatened to make them public.
The accused has been sent to police custody for two days.
