Stuttgart: Portugal captain Luis Figo was unexpectedly left out of the starting lineup for Saturday's World Cup match for third place against Germany.
His place was taken by Simao Sabrosa who will play alongside Pauleta up front.
Portugal also replaced defender Ricardo Carvalho, who was suspended, with Ricardo Costa.
