Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has criticised the DMK chief M Karunanidhi for giving former Telecom Minister and the main accused in the 2G case, A Raja, party ticket in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking at her campaign rally in Erode on Thursday, Jayalalithaa said Karunanidhi did not deny the charges leveled against A Raja and he had only merely stated there was no evidence against the former minister.
The DMK had announced its list of candidates on Monday, with A Raja being fielded once again from the Nilgiris constituency in Tamil Nadu.
The DMK has also re-nominated former Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran, who is being investigated in the Aircel-Maxis deal.
Both Karunanidhi and Raja have brushed aside the corruption charges saying there was no concrete evidence.
